Rickenbacker 360 – Service and Strap Locks

I do love a Rickenbacker, probably my favourite manufacturer. This one just needs a bit of a service and setup.

While it was having a once over I also added a set of strap locks.

The screw hole on the end was a little loose so I drilled it out and plugged it.

With the end of the plug cleaned up all it needed then was to be re-drilled.

The electrics were also a little scratchy so I cleaned each of the switch contacts.

as well as the volume and tone pots’

With that done it’s just a standard setup.

A little more complicated with 2 truss-rods.

The action at the 12th fret.

again a little complicated by the fact that there are 4 adjustment screws.

The action at the first fret was fine.

The screw hole for the other strap button was also a little sloppy so I did the same with that one.

So there it is.  What a great guitar.  Not so keen on the colour to be honest, but I’d still love to keep this one.
