First thing first, drill the hole for the new jack socket/strap button.

It’s a little larger than even my largest drill, so it needed a little work with a round file..

The pickup sits under the bridge saddle.  It’s important to reduce the height of the saddle by the thickness of the pickup or the action height will be raised up a little…

It’s not much, but it’ll make all the difference to the feel.  That’s what I’m taking off…

The grinding wheel is the quickest way…

although it’s important to finish it off by hand.  If the bottom isn’t square and even then the pickup might not work properly over all the strings.

The control box fits nicely inside the sound-hole so there’s no pre-amp to mount on the side of the body.

So there it is, the jack socket…

and the guitar ready to go.
